Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020, she has made 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and the next throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family often relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk often and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggle in school, and eventually discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
